Tips For Having More Focus

When we were kids, we lived for summertime. There was no school, we could eat whatever we wanted, and travel as far as our bicycles could take us. But now that we’re adults, most of us don’t get much of a “summer break,” yet our brains still dream of being outside, soaking up the sun, and going on adventures. This desire can make it hard to concentrate at our jobs, making us less productive. Today we’d like to talk about some natural health remedies that encourage focus, so you can work smarter, not harder. And hopefully have some time for summer fun as well!

Get The Right Kind Of Sleep

You are probably somewhat familiar with stages of sleep. There are five acknowledged sleep stages: 1, 2, 3, 4, and REM. Each stage serves a different purpose, and every night you cycle through the phases several times. Stage 1 is that semi-conscious state when you are just beginning to fall asleep. During stage 2, your eye movement stops and your brain waves begin to slow to an intermediate frequency. During stage 3 and 4, known as deep sleep, your brain waves reach their slowest point, and are referred to as delta waves. This is the deepest, and most restorative, part of your sleep cycle. During this time, all eye and muscle activity stop, and human growth hormone is released which helps to restore your body from the stress of the previous day. Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is the final stage, and your brain activity is similar to that of when you are awake.

Making sure you get plenty of deep sleep imperative to being able to focus the following day as that is the time when your brain experiences the most rest. Each time you wake up, you start the stages over. So if, for example, you drink a lot of water before bed and wake up just as you are entering stage 3 to use the bathroom, you will go back to stage 1 when you return to bed. Reaching stages 3 and 4, and moving through them completely, will help ensure focus.

Drink More Water

This seems to be a common cry that we preach here at WiseLifeNaturals, but that’s because water is so vital to every aspect of our lives. Studies have shown that even being just a little bit dehydrated can make it hard to pay attention. If you have a desk job, you may forget to drink water since you’re not moving around a lot. Make sure to take a water bottle to work and keep it within arms reach to encourage hydration.

Get Moving

We don’t mean hit the gym after work – though that is good for focus also. If you have a sedentary job, it is important to make sure to take frequent movement breaks. This can be as simple as wiggling your toes during a meeting to bring your wandering mind back to reality. And although leaving your desk may seem unproductive, just taking a walk around the office every half an hour or so can actually help to reset your focus.

Find A Natural Supplement To Aid In Focus

WiseLifeNatural has an array of natural supplements that are believed to support the brain’s ability to focus and pay attention. While we offer supplements like Organic Turmeric Curcumin, Pure Moringa Oleifera Extract, Pure Raspberry Ketones, and Adderplex for focus, one of our favorite supplements for this purpose is our Kerala Herbs FOCUS ENERGY™ that contains certified organic Panax Ginseng extract, Ginkgo Biloba extract, Chaga mushroom extract, Bacosides, phosphatidylserine, vitamin b5, and black pepper extract. It also has DMEA, a component that formerly was only available in prescription medicines.
